Getting Lucky, Everyday

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful… Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. –Colossians 4:2-6

Ever noticed how some people seem to get all the luck?  They are always at the right place at the right time.  They get the big deals.  They are always able to influence people for good.

Want to get in on that action?

Devote yourself to prayer.  Be watchful.  It’s amazing how God begins to increase your opportunities for influence if you will simply be alert.  Be expectant.  Believe that God wants to do something great through you for his glory.  Then start looking around for your moment to shine.  That’s the mindset that opens “lucky” divine opportunities.

What helps luck is a habit of watching for opportunities, of having a patient, but restless mind, of sacrificing one’s ease or vanity, or uniting a love of detail to foresight, and of passing through hard times bravely and cheerfully. – Charles Victor Cherbuliez
